FORMAL BIOGRAPHIES
Gary Doucet is the Chief Architect for the Government of Canada. Leading the Enterprise Architecture and Standards Division (EASD) within the Chief Information Office (CIO) Branch of the Treasury Board Secretariat, he is responsible for the advancing Enterprise Architecture (EA) within the Federal Government. Gary came to the Government of Canada from CGI, a leading provider of end-to-end information technology and business process services, where he was a Director of Consulting Services and instituted a Solutions Management Office to ensure a consistent approach to solutions across their client engagements. Currently, Gary is the vice-president of the Association of Enterprise Architects, and the former President of the Canadian chapter. He is also Head of Delegation for Canada at UN/CEFACT where he works with other countries on standards for trade and business groups. For over 20 years Gary has been hands-on across the disciplines of Systems Development, Architecture, Engineering, and Management. He has been a part-time instructor of technology for several years, and holds a B.Sc. (Computer Science) from the University of New Brunswick.
John Gøtze is an Associate Professor at the Copenhagen Business School and at the Danish IT University, where he lectures and supervises projects in EA. He currently serves as President of the Association of Enterprise Architects (a|EA). He is co-founder of the Danish think-tank EA Fellows. He has served as enterprise architect at the National IT and Telecom Agency in Copenhagen, and participated in developing the Danish national policy for a government-wide enterprise architecture and interoperability framework that included a service-oriented architecture. In the EU IDA program, he was involved with developing the European Interoperability Framework under the eEurope 2005 program. As a civil servant, Dr. Gøtze co-authored several Danish and Swedish official policy documents, including the White Paper on EA in Government and The 24/7 Agency: Criteria for 24/7 Agencies in the Networked Public Administration. He holds a PhD in Technology and a M.Sc. in Engineering, both from the Technical University of Denmark.
Pallab Saha is a member of the faculty at the National University of Singapore and teaches courses on EA, IT Governance, and Business Process Management at the post-graduate and senior executive levels. His current consulting engagements are on developing EA for Singapore Government agencies. Dr. Saha is a frequently invited speaker at international and local conferences on EA and IT Governance (including several keynote sessions). He is the primary author of the Enterprise Architecture Methodology and Toolkit for the Government of Singapore. He is also a contributing author and an editor of the Enterprise Architecture Management Guide being developed by a|EA. Prior to academia; he was instrumental in managing Baxter’s environmental health and safety offshore development centre in Bangalore as Head of Projects and Development. He authored the Handbook of Enterprise Systems Architecture in Practice and has completed his second book Advances in Government Enterprise Architecture. He holds a Ph.D. in Information Systems from the Indian Institute of Science; an MBA from Utkal University; and a B.Sc. in Electronics from Bangalore University.
Scott Bernard is currently the Deputy CIO at the Federal Railroad Administration, the editor of the Journal of Enterprise Architecture, a member of the faculty at Syracuse University, and also teaches at Carnegie Mellon University. He wrote the first textbook on EA: “An Introduction to Enterprise Architecture” and developed the “EA3 Cube Framework” and the “Living Enterprise” EA web portal design. He has over 20 years of experience in IT management, including work in the academic, government, military, and private sectors. He’s held positions as a CIO, management consultant, line-of-business manager, network operations manager, telecommunications manager, and project manager for several major IT systems installations. He has developed enterprise architectures for public, private, and military organizations, started an EA practice for an IT management consulting firm, developed his own consulting practice, and taught EA at a number of universities, businesses, and agencies. He holds a Ph.D. in Public Administration from Virginia Tech, a M.S. in IT management, a M.A. in business management, a B.S. in Psychology from the University of Southern California, and a CIO Certificate from the U.S. National Defense University.
